We envision this film as a starting point for meaningful dialogue and positive change, and so our goal is to reach as wide an audience as possible, including the sizable segment of the population who may be aware that a problem exists, but do not think it is their place to respond – or simply do not know how to. By sharing facts, anecdotes, and actions each of us can take, the film encourages people to leave their indifference behind when they leave the theater and proceed as upstanders who, through actions large or small, engage in building a safer and more accepting society for everyone. Through public screenings that include dialogue with local experts and community leaders, as well as in educational settings for teens and adults, we hope to make a meaningful impact across a broad viewership.
This piece of the film, still in progress, is our part in the fight to preserve democracy for all the people of this country. We are sharing the lessons of those wiser and more experienced than us -and those younger and hoping for a future that is fair and just- and we hope it will make even a small difference. We hope it will motivate everyone who sees it to take a stand and do all you can to preserve, protect and nurture our precious democracy.
